About

HeadshotBeth Allan is an almost-thirty year old amateur photographer from… well, we’ll just say from Canada.  She spends most of her time teaching Grade 9 Language Arts and Computers, but really loves the periods when she can teach graphic design, photography, and video editing.  She has been working to start an exciting new program at her school that encourages students to explore the many aspects of the media world – from press photography to the art of filmmaking.

Photography is, as her dad would call it, her avocation and she has slowly been working to turn that avocation into something resembling a way to make money.  Right now, teaching photography to young and talented minds is definitely not a bad way to do that.

Beth is also going back to school for her third post-graduate degree; a Masters of Education in School Counselling from the University of Alberta.  When she’s done, well, who knows what’s next.  The best part about being Beth is in knowing that there’s always another adventure around the corner.

Beth’s one true love (which ties in closely to photography) is storm chasing.  She was lucky enough to participate in an incredible storm chasing tour in 2007 with storm chasing legend, Roger Hill, and hasn’t looked back since.  Every spring and summer she gets as much storm chasing in as she can and although she still goes out chasing with Roger (and Silver Lining Tours) as often as she can, she can also be seen chasing on her own in Alberta when the storms roll through in July and August.

Currently, Beth lives and works in a small town north of Edmonton, Alberta.  She lives with her two cats, one roommate, and four fish.
